Endless Love...
As happy as I am about my cupcakes... I am still finding myself wanting more. I have a "perfect" cake in mind. The recipe has yet to pass through my kitchen. There is a silky, smooth, magical texture that I am trying to get. The learning process of this has been a fun one! I must have eaten and force-fed just about everyone that I know - a jillion cupcakes!
I am currently researching and will soon be baking new recipes. Meanwhile, the cupcakes will continue to crank in the usual fashion. I am not planning on putting a name on a bad cake - so rest assured that the future orders will not be "test" recipes.
Wish me luck!

Minnie Mouse Cupcakes
Classic vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream, pink sprinkles, junior mint "ears", and a pink bow.
The BIG challenge in this cake was the request to go easy on the icing. Since the icing is my absolute FAVORITE thing in the world --- this was a new icing technique... light.
They turned out really cute. I sure hope that little Brooke (the birthday girl-she will be 6!) loves them!

Happy Days!
I have been practicing with a tiara cake. The pan is a mold of a tiara - I am not a fan. After 3 tries - I have decided that type of cake is just not my style. Not that I CAN'T do it. I just really do not care for those. I have contacted the lady interested in ordering it and explained to her my situation. Together, we created a wonderful plan! Instead of the tiara - I will bake a round layer cake and it will be adorned with an acual tiara. WHEW! am all kinds of excited to bake for her this weekend! In addition to her cake - I am also baking 5 dozen cupcakes for her. It is her daughter's 6th birthday.
I also have a small order for a great friend, Jenny. She teaches swimming lessons and they will be a little treat for her students to celebrate the completion of the lessons. I found some SUPER cute toppers today! For her I am baking Classic Vanilla with Blue Buttercream - 6 different fish themed toppers will make them adorable!
I will be sure to have LJ take some pictures of my creations this weekend! I have not uploaded photos in a while --- what a slacker!
Soon... I plan on testing more recipes. In the works is something with BACON! Updates will follow!

Finally...
It seems like an eternity since I have made my last post. I have been super busy! Both in the cupcake world and the real world. Over the past couple of weeks I have completed a few orders, taken in more orders, prepared for - and held a 3 day garage sale (which was very successful), sang lots of silly songs and gave lots of kisses to Lauren, and have been in a sort of "nesting" mode (rearranging, cleaning, decorating, creating, etc.) Needless to say, I set computer time aside.
Currently... I am working on creating a tiara cake and planning the "just right" topping for Minnie Mouse cupcakes. I have some great ideas in mind - and I am in test-mode! I am also getting very close to working with fondant. I have been checking out techniques by watching videos and reading about it. I am not as intimidated by it as I thought I was. I have always liked the look - but the taste is my hang-up. I just don't care for it. However, I do not think that I have ever had marshmallow fondant - need to give it a try.
My mother's website: www.fairytalefrocksandlollipops.com is up and ready for business! She is focusing on adorable children's clothing. Again, she will also be providing access to fun, flirty aprons! She mentioned to me that she is anxious to begin them! When I have more info on her cute, kitchen ware... I will update with photos!

Sugarplum Fairy - Flirty Aprons... COMING SOON!
This is the first time to post about a new line of bake-ware to be offered soon! Photos are very soon to follow! But I just want to be the "little bird" to bring the news!
My wonderfully talented mother is in the process of getting a fabulous children's clothing line started - Fairytale Frocks & Lollipops. After some discussion of BOTH of us building businesses - we have decided to (somewhat) work together. She has come across some beautiful "I Love Lucy" like patterns for aprons. In the midst of creating her precious children's clothing - she will also be providing a line for the girls in the kitchen! Sugarplum Fairy... A variety of flirty aprons with all of the style, swank, and sexiness that every kitchen goddess requires!
I am very excited about this! Full-size aprons, hippy aprons, and even talk of girlie chef hats!Keep checking back for updates!
